Head Coach - Upper School Tennis

We are looking for talented, engaging, and compassionate coaches for our Upper School Tennis Program to help us advance our vision of being an inclusive community of learners that provides an outstanding education for each individual in a diverse student population. We need coaches who understand best practices in their respective sport and are passionate about coaching and enhancing student life. Upper School practices 5 days a week with up to three competitions each week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of given sport and teaches appropriate fundamentals, techniques and skills.
- Is responsible for the health and safety of the student-athletes.
- Articulates a well-defined and understandable coaching philosophy.
- Applies developmentally appropriate and age appropriate methods to coaching student-athletes.
- Emphasizes sportsmanship and leadership among athletes.
- Clearly communicates to players, parents, administrators and staff.
- Positively motivates athletes and promotes teamwork.
- Attends all meetings and training as required by the league and/or Athletic Director.
- Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the schools documents.
- Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Availability between the hours of 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Salary:
Salary Stipend for Assistant Coach is $5,000-$6,000. This PT position does not qualify for fringe benefits.
REquired education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred
- Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching
- Must possess or be willing to obtain valid First Aid/CPR card
- Completion of State (WIAA) and League (Metro) Trainings and Verification
