Biography: Originally from southern California, Michael has lived in Seattle since 2009. He got his BA in international relations and Finnish language studies in 2013 from the University of Washington and then moved to Rovaniemi, Finland, on a Fulbright research grant. Michael then returned to the University of Washington to pursue graduate studies in international relations and public administration, attaining two Master degrees in 2019. Afterwards, he worked with the Gates Foundation before starting a teaching career. Now, Michael teaches 9th and 10th grade history in the upper school and spends his summers painting Warhammer models and lifting weights in his basement.
