Biography: Julie joined the Seattle Academy team in 2021, and her love of SAAS continues to grow! She has been working in education since 2007 and has a BS in Biology Teaching, and a Masters of Special Education. She was in the role of SAAS 6th Grade Dean of Students from 2022-2025. While Julie is a Pacific Northwest native, she has lived abroad in both Sweden and Germany, where she founded and ran an organization for new parents and worked closely with families from over 15 different countries. Julie is an avid painter, reader, and gardener. She has been a trip leader for multiple SAAS 6th grade Alaska trips, and spends her summers playing and camping in the outdoors. She is excited to bring her background in Special Education, family support, and enthusiasm for working with students, families and teachers to the role of Assistant Head of Middle School!
