Biography: Sydnie joined Seattle Academy in 2021 as an Upper School English teacher for 9th and 12th grade. She previously taught in her hometown of Boise, ID, at an IB Outdoor school for two years. She received a Master's in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction as well as a Graduate Teaching Certificate from Boise State University in 2019. Sydnie attended Gonzaga University for her undergraduate degree in English Writing with minors in Spanish and Journalism. She taught English for a year in Madrid, Spain, and holds certificates for Teaching English as a Foreign Language and International Baccalaureate Curriculum. Sydnie has been thrilled to share her love of Shakespeare, poetry, and Sylvia Plath in her senior elective courses. She is highly involved in Seattle Academy athletics, coaching JV Lacrosse, JVC Volleyball, CYO Basketball, and Upper School tennis -- her true passion for coaching lies in swimming and water polo, which she hopes to coach in the future.
