Biography: M holds a BA in Music Education from the University of North Texas. They moved to Seattle three years ago after over a decade living and teaching in Austin, Texas. While in Texas, they spent their time as a Special Education TA, and classroom tutor working towards college readiness in Title I schools, as well as a private instructor in trombone and low brass performance. M has a passion for poetry and language arts in English, Dutch, as well as French. They also greatly enjoy the study of American and world history. M is enthusiastic about helping students become lifelong scholars who are keen to dive into any topic and passionately seek out new information that interests them. When they aren’t practicing their trombone, Marie can be found with their dog Jack at the local parks, camping, hiking, or playing in the 8 Bit Brass Band.
