Biography: I have taught English, History, and/or Humanities for over 20 years in both public and private schools, most recently just over the hill at The Northwest School. Though originally from California, I grew up on Whidbey Island and have been in the Pacific Northwest ever since. I earned my BA and Washington State teaching certificate from The Evergreen State College and have a master’s degree in school leadership and organization from Columbia University. History is a great passion of mine outside the classroom as well as in. I have been involved with education programming at a number of museums, I serve on the board of the Capitol Hill Historical Society, and I am part of a team that creates educational theater out of oral histories and other primary source research. I am thrilled to be joining the SAAS team, and look forward to connecting with students, parents, and colleagues.
