Biography: Shavette joined SAAS in 2022 as Assistant Head of School of Student Experience. She is a proud alum of Washington State University (Go Cougs!) where she has a BA in Communication. She earned her Master in Education (M.Ed.) degree from Western Washington University and started her career working at colleges, specifically working in First Year Experience programming, Student leadership, and DEI. Shavette joined the independent school community in 2012, where she has been ever since, and loves having the opportunity to work with students before they go to college to make those crucial connections earlier in their development. Shavette has two children, Kayla and Kamden, is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first historically Black sorority, (and Kamala Harris' sorority), and loves her peloton bike and tread!
