Biography: James joined the SAAS community in 2022 as the Head of Middle School. He is originally from Brooklyn N.Y. and believes Pizza is life. After completing his second Masters Degree in School Leadership, James left Brooklyn in 2007 to pursue leadership opportunities at a Swiss boarding school for 9 years and then most recently helped establish a school for at-risk youth, the majority of whom were Indigenous, on Vancouver Island in Canada. He comes to the SAAS community with his daughter (Class of 2030) and son (Class of 2028). He is a History teacher by trade and a sports enthusiast. When not at school, he enjoys traveling the world. He's been to over 30 countries, playing a range of sports and hiking in nature with his two dogs, Freya and Naya.
