Biography: Alex joined Seattle Academy in 2022 as an English teacher. She grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, studied English Literature and Education at Purdue University, and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to do an AmeriCorps program called City Year working full time in schools. Alex first fell in love with the city of Seattle after a cross-country cycling trip that started in Rhode Island and concluded at Golden Gardens in 2011. She started her career in the San Jose Unified School District, taught at Summit Sierra High School in the International District, and spent two years in her hometown teaching in Indianapolis Public Schools. Alex is happy to continuing laying down roots in Seattle and is an avid Seattle Reign and Storm fan. She loves to get involved with the SAAS community by attending student sporting events, being an assistant coach, and chaperoning trips to Alaska and the Yukon.
