Biography: Nura joined Seattle Academy in 2022 as a yoga teacher in the Upper School PE Department. She has spent the last 20 years teaching yoga in different countries and to different populations from middle schoolers to octogenarians. Born in Germany, raised in Zimbabwe, and having spent her adult life in Vermont, NY, Switzerland and Canada, she has a BA in Visual Arts from Bennington College, and has studied yoga, massage therapy, Pilates, and other healing modalities and utilizes much of this knowledge in her classroom teaching. Travel and personal growth and development have always been important pieces of her life, which led her to running yoga retreats internationally for the past decade. She has most recently brought that passion to the SAAS community by offering a unique trip to the upper school students, and is excited to continue creating new ways for students to grow in self-awareness and health.
