Biography: Tracy joined Seattle Academy in September of 2023 as a Strength & Conditioning teacher for the Upper School. He is new to the Northwest having moved to Portland in 2020. He has a degree in English with a concentration in Poetry from Medgar Evers College (CUNY). A native of Brooklyn, New York he started training candidates for the New York City Fire Academy physical fitness exam while going to school. Before earning his degree or being a personal trainer Tracy spent fifteen years working as a chef at Michelin starred restaurants in New York City such as Craft and A Voce. After a career as a chef, he spent a little over five years as a whole animal butcher. This spring Tracy will graduate as a Cave Canem poetry fellow joining the likes of former U.S. Poet Laureates Tracy K. Smith and Natasha Trethewey and Pulitzer Prize winner Tyehimba Jess. He loves reading too many books at one time, obscure film references and swimming.
