Biography:
Amanda emigrated to Washington State from Ontario, Canada, after graduating from the University of Waterloo with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. She earned an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Seattle City University in 2024 and holds teaching endorsements in English Language Arts and Special Education. Before joining Seattle Academy as a Study Skills teacher in 2023, she taught in the therapy pool at Seattle Children's Hospital and worked with IEP students as a paraeducator at Vashon Island High School. She has also worked as a lifeguard, swimming instructor, certified first aid instructor, and camp counselor. A lover of literature and film, she is a published poet and serves as the faculty advisor of the Poetry Club at Seattle Academy.
