Biography: Amanda emigrated to Washington state from Ontario, Canada after graduating from the University of Waterloo with a BA in English Language & Literature. Before joining Seattle Academy as a Study Skills teacher in 2023, she spent four years teaching in the therapy pool at Seattle Children's Hospital and worked with IEP students as a paraeducator at Vashon Island High School. She is currently pursuing an MEd in Curriculum & Instruction at Seattle City University with endorsements in Special Education and English Language Arts. In addition to teaching in schools, she's also worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor, a certified first aid instructor, and a camp counselor. She is a published poet and lover of literature and film. She also has two dogs, Ruby June and Wallaby.
