Biography: Amanda (She/Her) grew up in Hawaii and was formed by the waves and sand. She fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while attending the University of Washington where she earned an M.S. in Chemical Engineering. Amanda is joining SAAS in 2024 as an Upper School Math Teacher. She arrives with 15 years of experience teaching high school math and chemistry. She has also directed wilderness programs and rite-of-passage programs for youth. Amanda loves hanging out with her family and spending time outdoors. She is happiest backpacking around the Washington wilderness, cross country skiing, sailing in the Salish Sea, taking long urban walks, or just sitting in the woods. Amanda is very excited to be a part of the vibrant and thriving community at SAAS!
