Biography: Chaeli is so excited to join SAAS as an Associate Teacher in 2024. Her passion for teaching rises from a belief that all children deserve access to a rich and nuanced education in an environment where they feel safe. Though she did not attend SAAS as a student, Chaeli was able to attend both public and private schools while growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area and experienced the transformative community and culture within independent schools first-hand. After graduating from Linfield University in 2020 with a BA in English Literature and Secondary Education, she stayed in Oregon to teach 9th grade English for two years. When her cousin in Washington had a baby, she moved north again and began substitute teaching in Kitsap County and volunteering at a nonprofit. When not working, Chaeli bakes cookies, cuddles with her fat cat, and avoids making eye-contact with her unfinished knitting and crochet projects.
