Biography: Becca Mahoney joined SAAS as a Study Skills teacher in 2025 after spending twenty years as a classroom teacher, most recently serving for 17 years at The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia. While consistently teaching Upper School History courses and serving as an advisor, she also held several other roles at Potomac, including History Department Chair, 9th Grade Dean, and Teaching Fellow mentor. An East Coaster until 2024, Becca is a native Washingtonian (from Washington, D.C.) and earned both her bachelor’s degree in History and her master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, needlepointing, and reading.
