Biography: Scottie joined Seattle Academy in 2024 after completing his doctorate in engineering at Saint Louis University. Having grown up in Tacoma, he is pleased to be back in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by water, mountains, and green trees. In his dissertation, he researched novel mathematics education methods and tools, focusing especially on students with blindness or low vision. He is eager to lend his expertise to innovations, science, and, of course, mathematics! Scottie enjoys being outdoors—whether hiking or biking—and expresses his creativity through painting, photography, and 3D printing.
