Biography: Tomas (TC) is a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, with the exception of five years spent living in León, Spain. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, but shifted to his passion for education a few years later. He has worked as an AmeriCorps tutor, taught math in grades 7–12, led backpacking trips, and coached ultimate frisbee for more than 10 years. Tomas joined SAAS in the spring of 2025 as a substitute teacher before becoming a full-time math teacher that fall. He is an avid hiker who also enjoys spending time with his dogs, sailing, exploring new restaurants, and playing tabletop role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons.
