Biography: Lauren joined Seattle Academy in 2025 as the Assistant Director of Outdoor & Travel. Raised in the southern Appalachian Mountains of northeast Georgia, she began her educational career in 2004, teaching Environmental Science and Outdoor Recreation in the Highline School District in Burien. After many glorious years traipsing through the Cascades with students, Lauren pursued educational leadership opportunities at Sun Valley Community School in Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains. She loves the “ecosystem” of schools and how they mirror the interconnectedness of nature. Lauren is excited to be back in Seattle, where she can continue exploring outdoor spaces with students and faculty—particularly through backpacking, Nordic skiing, mountain biking, and canoeing.
