Biography: Born and raised in Los Angeles, Nicole moved to Seattle in 2023 in search of a bit more rain. She joined Seattle Academy in 2025 as a long-term substitute teacher before transitioning in 2026 to a full-time 9th and 12th Grade English teacher. In California, she earned her B.S. in Liberal Studies from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and her M.A. in Education from Loyola Marymount University in 2017. Since then, she has taught early literacy, essay writing, English, and humanities in both Los Angeles and Seattle. She has also served in schools as a mindfulness practitioner, restorative justice facilitator, and Critical Friends Group coach for fellow educators. Nicole enjoys all things English—reading, writing, and reflecting on both—as well as practicing yoga and meditation.
