Biography: Alison Ray is our Dean of Teaching and Learning and has worked at Seattle Academy since 2007, first as an Upper School English teacher and later as the English Department Chair and then as Dean of Faculty for Humanities. Prior to SAAS, Alison served as Department Chair at Escuela Americana in San Salvador, El Salvador. Alison started her career in the Seattle Public Schools and earned her Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington. As Dean of Teaching and Learning at SAAS, Alison works with faculty — including early career teachers and instructional coaches — on mission-aligned curriculum and instruction.
