Biography: Barton was born in the other Washington (DC), but after Dartmouth and Wesleyan and a short stint in investment banking, he moved to the West Coast for a new profession (teaching) and graduate school (Occidental). Many years later he has taught history and economics at four independent schools in California and Washington and coached a lot of tennis. At SAAS, he has advised the Econ-Finance Club and coached six individual state tennis winners in doubles and singles, and earned one team state title. His current passion outside of school is struggling with the guitar.
