Biography: Steve Retz has been our History Department Chair since 2010. He was hired at Seattle Academy in 1994 to teach 8th Grade World Geography and 9th Grade World History. In his first few years at SAAS, Steve served as a Lead Teacher for the 9th Grade (similar to the Coordinator role we have today) and as the faculty advisor for ASB. He was also the Mock Trial coach from 2006 to 2009 and started the Youth Legislature program in 1995, which has continued to have a delegation every year from then to now. Before SAAS, Steve taught English as a Foreign Language for a year abroad, and over the 28 years that he has been working here, he has taught history across all grades from 8th to 12th.
