Biography: Catherine Klem joined the SAAS community in 2016, and served as the Math Department Chair from 2020-2025. While at SAAS, Catherine has taught a variety of math classes (PreCalculus through Calculus 2 and Statistics), coached cross country and track, and led many trips (Odyssey, India, Zambia, Senior Canyonlands, and the Baker Backcountry Ski Trip). Catherine studied Geology and Math in college, and since then has lived in Massachusetts, Colorado, The Bahamas, and Seattle working as a math teacher and outdoor educator. When not geeking out about math and teaching, Catherine can be found running, biking, and skiing with her daughter and husband or at home doing crosswords and baking with her cat.
