Biography: A Washington native, Danae joined Seattle Academy in 2018 after working in music, technology and education for over 15 years in Los Angeles. She holds a Master’s in Educational Administration from George Washington University and two Bachelor's degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle, majoring in Music and Education with a minor in Ethnic Studies. In addition to her educational career, Danae excelled as a studio musician, performer, vocal coach, and music instructor. She authored a book on vocal improvisation and currently sits on the Seattle Symphony Board of Directors. Danae currently teaches in the Performing Arts department, but she has worn multiple hats at SAAS, including advising the Multiracial Affinity groups, teaching Computational Thinking, serving as the Assistant Head of Middle School and Director of Equity and Inclusion. Blending her love for harmony with her DEI efforts, Danae firmly believes that everyone has unique gifts to share, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration in all aspects of her work.
