On February 1, Adam Quinn '11, currently working as the Associate Director of the first national tour of Dear Evan Hansen and cast members Jared Goldsmith (Jared), Maggie McKenna (Zoe), and Noah Kieserman (Understudy for Evan, Jared, and Conner) visited Seattle Academy for a question and answer session for with students.

The Dear Evan Hansen cast talked to students about the process of being on tour, the emotional burden the show might have taken on them, advice they wish they knew when they were in high school, and their favorites parts about the show.

One question a student asked Adam was, "How was your experience transitioning from SAAS to a career in the theatre world and living in NYC?" Adam shared that Seattle Academy's Culture of Performance and the number of opportunities he took on whether he acted, danced, took art classes... he was always saying yes to an opportunity. When he moved to New York City, Adam was, "confident to take meetings, meet with directors, and speak eloquently in front of large crowds."  He encouraged students to, "Just say yes, because you don't know what you are capable of until you try."

Michael Cimino shared that Adam called him one day to ask how he might be able to give back to Seattle Academy - which is how they came up with the idea to bring some cast members to SAAS to share their experiences with SAAS students.

Adam has been working on the production of Dear Evan Hansen in New York City for almost three years when it was off-Broadway. In addition to touring with Dear Evan Hansen, he was recently the Associate Producer of RENT Live on Fox, which premiered on Sunday, February 27.

We are so grateful to Adam and the cast members for visiting SAAS and sharing their experiences!
