The Fiber department at MICA focused more on technique and conceptual thinking - allowing me to use those tools into my more focused designs. I also worked in MICA's Digital Fabrication Studio for two years. I spent much time down there learning the ins and outs about 3D modeling, 3D printing, laser cutting, and different ways about bringing digital design into the world as a tangible object.

My passion for apparel design has always been inspired by new and traditional textile techniques and digital fabrication. During my undergrad, I had an internship at Under Armour, designed a red carpet look for the White House Correspondents' Dinner, and showcased at MICA's Annual Benefit Fashion, DC Fashion Week, and MICA's Experimental Fashion Show.

I am currently putting the final touches on a new collection, Half Time, that will be showing at New York Fashion Week in September for Spring/Summer 2020. This new collection is inspired by sportswear, jumpsuits, and uniforms. I have 3D printed and incorporated oversized zippers into many of my looks. I wanted to mix the traditional closure of a zipper and the fabrication world by 3D printing these parts to create an assembly.

I am still using traditional methods of making by incorporating pleating, hand-dyed fabrics, coiling, and piecing. My color palette for SS2020 is very bright, using neon colors, and references outdoor gear and sportswear with materials such as ripstop, nylon, and mesh.
