SAAS: 9th Grade Retreat: Building Belonging
Save the Date: December 11 & 12
Dear 9th Grade Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to share that our 9th Grade Retreat:Building Belonging, will take place on Thursday, December 11, and Friday, December 12, 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM each day. This retreat will include both on-campus and off-campus experiences designed to help students reflect on where they are in their high school journey and space to look ahead to what’s to come.
Over the two days, students will:
Look closely at graduation requirements and begin mapping out courses and pathways they’ll explore over the next three years.
Strengthen advisory connections through team-building activities and friendly competition.
Build class cohesion through reflection prompts and engaging group experiences.
Spend time off-campus at Lynnwood Bowl and Skate to connect, recharge, and have fun together.
On Thursday, lunch will happen as normal - students may purchase lunch from SAGE, bring their own lunch, or purchase lunch off campus. On Friday, students need to bring their own lunch, as we will be heading off campus for the afternoon. SAGE lunch will not be available, and students will not be able to leave campus to purchase lunch on Friday.
Our aim is that this retreat will help students feel more grounded in their high school experience and more connected as a class.
At Seattle Academy, we encourage students to try new things and engage in a variety of experiences in order to facilitate personal growth and build community.
