Welcome to College Advising!
Here are answers to common questions at this time.

MaiaLearning access

How do I access my account?

  • We will share access credentials after 11th graders hear more context about their process at a December 14 class meeting. On Wednesday, December 15, when prompted to do so via email, please go to www.maialearning.com and select Sign In.
  • Students have SSO (single sign on) which is integrated with their current Seattle Academy email and password.
  • Parents/guardians have temporary code (sent via email) to use when initially signing in for the first time.
  • This link leads to a page where you can set your permanent password. The link expires after one day and nothing will happen if it’s not used.

I’m a parent who didn’t receive an email or code to log in. What do I do?

  • Simply go to maialearning.com, select Sign In, then Forgot my Password, and follow the prompts.

I’m a student and I can’t sign on with my SAAS password.

  • The Single Sign On feature for students is sometimes complicated by multiple Gmail accounts in a student’s name, or the choice of a student’s browser. The simplest solution is to bypass the Single Sign On feature, go to MaiaLearning.com, select Sign In, then Forgot my Password, and follow the prompts.

Once I logged in, there was is an error in my Maia information.

  • If you see incorrect data in your file, please contact your College Advisor and let them know. Your file is only visible to you, your family, and to College Advising.

Next steps

  • Log in to MaiaLearning (see above if needed) when prompted to do so on Wednesday, December 15.
  • The student must complete Class of 2023 Kick-Off Survey before meeting (at bottom of Activities and Tasks).
  • Once at least the student survey is complete, email the College Advisor listed at the top of the page.
  • At least one parent/guardian is also encouraged to complete the parent/guardian survey. If you have trouble finding or completing the parent survey, email the College Advisor listed at the top of the page.
  • Students will always meet individually first. Once the student has met 1:1 beginning in January, any family is welcome to reach out for a subsequent family meeting.
  • After the first student meeting, which also outlines a testing plan, the College Advisor will send a summary.
  • After the first student meeting, the College Advisor will also populate MaiaLearning with college suggestions.
  • All student and family tasks through mid-February are listed in the Activities and Tasks list in MaiaLearning.
  • Plan to attend events below, as appropriate.
  • Know you have a great, experienced support team that will guide you through this process.

Unique student testing plan

  • While we will provide context in individual college advising appointments and not everyone will test, if you are an 11th grader who knows they wish to take an ACT or SAT, please feel free to register at any time.
  • In addition, during January, College Advisor and student review testing knowns, including alignment with current college testing information and potential colleges of interest.
  • When/if registering for an SAT:  If you took an October PSAT on campus, log-in to College Board/SAT with those credentials. If you took a practice test virtually and you might like to take an SAT, create an account. For ACT, register through the link above.
  • Students who choose to test generally try to retest once if possible.
  • If testing is impossible or disappointing… there are now lots of alternatives!

Spring events

  • December 14, Community Time, 11th grade class meeting college summary; Maia available next day
  • April 26 and 27, Application Case Studies (mock application review) Program; one of two nights (family choice); earlier advertised dates may change based on college rep feedback; information forthcoming
