SAAS Friday Email: Voter Registration, Winter Sport Survey, Impact:SAAS and More!

Friday, October 15, 2021

Election Connection Club will be facilitating a voter registration drive next Wednesday, October 20th during community time and lunch! We will operate a table or two outside (on 12th Avenue between the Conference Room and Mother's Place) encouraging students, faculty, and Capitol Hill residents to register to vote ahead of the local November 2nd election.

If you are 16 years old or older and have not yet registered to vote in the state of Washington, we encourage you to show up! We hope to see you there! Please contact if you have any questions.

With increased vehicle and foot traffic, plus congestion during pickups and drop-offs, please be mindful of driveways, sidewalks and entry points for neighboring businesses such as Mother's Place, Moss Alley, and/or the residential condos in the area. It is illegal to block these driveways and to block intersections even for a short period of time.

Going west on Spring Street is also an area that experiences significant congestion during pickups and drop-offs mostly due to unloading our SAAS route and athletic buses in the Spring cutout. If possible, please continue south of 13th to Marion or Columbia, which also has traffic light to help ease your entry onto 12th.

Our priority is to keep students safe – and our Capitol Hill neighbors share this priority. Remember to be considerate and demonstrate our core values as we interact with each other, even during high traffic times. Thank you!

It’s Seattle Academy’s 38th birthday! Since 1983, SAAS has taught students to question, imagine, and create in order to contribute boldly to a changing world. It’s a formula of proven success for students as they pursue a college education and tackle the world after SAAS

Today, our mission is more alive than ever. From the classroom to the stage and athletic fields, the full SAAS education and experience are made possible with support from our generous donors. Gifts of all sizes to Impact:SAAS, the Annual Fund of Seattle Academy, help spark curiosity and discovery in and out of the classroom.

If you haven’t yet participated in the Annual Fund, our birthday is a perfect opportunity to do so. And if you give or pledge before next Tuesday, you will save our volunteers from calling you during the October 19th Annual Fund Phonathon!

We have just six weeks left to reach our goal of $1.5 million. To date, SAAS has received $459,171 from 537 donors. Check out our growing list of those who have made a gift or pledge so far! We are grateful for your support.
