SAAS in the City is around the corner! Despite the curveball that Omicron has thrown at us, we are actively moving forward with planning our annual community party and fundraiser set for Saturday, March 26, at Fremont Studios. Specific details and COVID protocols will be communicated to our community in February. For now, here are answers to some frequently asked questions:
What is SAAS in the City?
SAAS in the City is a community party that celebrates the transformational impact of a SAAS education that includes a paddle raise to benefit our Financial Aid programs. This allows all students to receive the full SAAS experience and education to contribute boldly to a changing world. It’s not an auction; it’s a very special evening that features talented student performers, alumni speakers and more. This year we are also planning a fun COVID-safe social gathering along with a raffle drawing.
When is SAAS in the City?
Join us for SAAS in the City on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the fabulous Fremont Studios. The event starts at 6:00 PM and with safety in mind, we’re very excited to launch a new format this year! Instead of the traditional dinner set up, Fremont Studios will transform into an intimate SAAS performance hall complete with music venue style seating. Attendees will enjoy a festive pre-party outside before the big show starts where you can mix, mingle and finally catch up in person (woo-hoo)! Be sure to stay for the after-party as we’ll have delicious desserts, cocktails and bubbly on hand to toast our generous community. This is a lively, fun evening that you won’t want to miss!
Who attends SAAS in the City?
This event draws an audience of enthusiastic, supportive parents, grandparents, alumni, and others in the SAAS community, who recognize Seattle Academy's dedication and mission to challenge students to question, imagine, and create!
What COVID safety protocols will be in place?
With an eye on the rapidly changing COVID landscape, we are considering several safety plans. At a minimum, guests will be required to provide proof of vaccination or the results of a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event. In addition, right now we are planning to require guests to wear their masks while indoors unless they are drinking and eating.
How do I get tickets to SAAS in the City?
Online ticket sales will open in late February. Look for the link to purchase tickets in the Friday Emails and other email communications from the school. While this event typically sells out (600+ guests), this year we will need to cap attendance due to COVID health and safety considerations. Get your tickets early!
What if the event sells out or I can’t attend in person?
This year we will offer a livestream option for those in our community who can’t attend the event at Fremont Studios. The link for the livestream will be sent to the community the week of the event, with instructions on how to register your attendance.
What is a Community Chest Ticket?
Seattle Academy values community and welcomes everyone at this event. With that in mind, the Community Chest ticket is a subsidized ticket option available (limit two per family). The Community Chest ticket option will be available online and all requests are confidential.
What do I wear to SAAS in the City?
This year, SAAS in the City will feature some outdoor socializing (we are planning for some protection from the elements), so plan accordingly! Otherwise, you will see attire as diverse as our SAAS community. Wear what makes you feel your SAAS-y best.
When will we learn more about the details of this year’s event?
Look for more details in February outlining all of the fun we have planned. This will give you plenty of time to learn all about the event before ticket sales open.
