SAAS Ethics Bowl Team Places 10th in Nation
After moving past the state tournament in February, Seattle Academy’s Upper School Ethics Bowl team competed in the national tournament for the second year in a row. The national championship was hosted at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Seattle Academy’s team discussed topics including the no-fly list, adoption practices, dating app etiquette, and Confederate monuments.
Placing tenth in the nation, the seven students consisted mostly of new members: freshmen Micah Shapiro and Helen Bellew, sophomores Aki Eisenman-Shoda and Ellis Andrews, and junior Makena Kerns. Returning members, seniors Molly Sanderson and Grace Vidger, also attended for their last-ever Ethics Bowl competition. The students were accompanied by Julia Kassissieh, Dean of Academics, and their coach, Gerald Elliott.
Congratulations to the Seattle Academy Ethics Bowl Team!
