SAAS Robotics Advances to First Tech Challenge Worlds Competition

Seattle Academy FTC team 2856 Tesseract took it to the fourth dimension March 10-12, competing in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) West Super-Regional competition in Tacoma and advancing to the FTC Worlds Competition. Tesseract was on the finalist alliance in the Olympic division of the event, narrowly missing out on winning their division. They were the runner-up nominee for the Motivate award, which recognizes a team that “exhibits team building, team spirit and…enthusiasm…motivates others to embrace the culture of the competition and FIRST…[and has]…made a collective effort to make FIRST known throughout their school and community.”

Team 2856 Tesseract will compete against the best FTC teams in the world in Houston April 19-22, 2017. Competition days are the 20th-22nd. The regular matches will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Finals will be held at Minute Maid Park. It is expected that there will be around 65,000 attendees. The competition is for all FIRST robotics programs with 1,394 team attending from over 39 countries.
