Earlier this year, XQ Institute had a nationwide call for high school artists and 2018 graduates to be part of  "XQ Super School Live," a series of events across the country with stops in Los Angeles, San Diego, Tacoma, Denver, Colorado Springs, Memphis, Nashville, and Chicago celebrating heroes transforming American high schools. In January, Seattle Academy students, Alaina Neuburger '19 and Leila Guilhemotonia '19 submitted their photographs along with a photo essay showcasing what high school looks like through their eyes while capturing the communities that make their school unique.

As part of her submission, Leila shared, "It's very interesting actually, looking back at freshman year me and seeing me now. I never thought I'd be where I am."

After completing an interview process, their art was selected to be on stage as backdrops during the upcoming Seattle Production of the "XQ Super School Live" at the Moore Theater.

Congratulations to Alaina and Leila on this recognition of your photography!

XQ Institute is a growing and passionate network of educators, students, families, and civic-minded citizens re-imagining high school education in the United States.
