Seattle Academy Fall Sports Season Off and Running
The fall sports season is well underway at Seattle Academy with, as usual, another tremendous turnout. This fall the Cardinals have fielded nine soccer teams, seven volleyball teams, three teams in both tennis and Ultimate and two teams each in golf and cross country for a total of 26 teams! Almost 450 kids, about half of the school, are participating in athletics this fall.
“The number of participants is incredible and we look forward to a very exciting fall season,” said Athletic Director Cathy Schick. “We’ve got a great group of skillful, enthusiastic coaches and along with a brand new beautiful facility to work in, it’s an amazing time for the athletic program and the entire SAAS community.”
One of the many highlights of the fall athletic season at SAAS is our annual Fall Mania, which this year will take place next Friday, September 21st. The annual event will again be held at the Starfire Sports Complex. All 26 SAAS teams will be recognized throughout the evening with the nine soccer teams and the three Ultimate teams playing in games. Fall Mania, on four different fields at Starfire, starts at 3:15 p.m. and culminates with the Girls varsity soccer team taking on Fife in the main stadium at 7:15 p.m.
Following Fall Mania, SAAS will host Volleyball Fest on Monday, September 24th! All seven SAAS volleyball teams, four Upper School and three Middle School, will be in action. Games start at 3:30 p.m. culminating with the girls’ varsity squad taking on Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m.
