Rainier Avenue Radio Broadcasting LIVE from Seattle Academy's Basketball Mania
This Friday, December 20, is our annual Upper School Basketball Mania. All six Seattle Academy Basketball teams will be in action against University Prep and The Northwest School.
The live and on-site broadcast will begin at 6 PM with the Seattle Academy Girls' Varsity vs University Prep. Followed by the Seattle Academy Boys' Varsity game vs University Prep at 7:30 PM.

This year, we are pleased to welcome the Rainier Avenue Radio's broadcast team of Tony Benton on play-by-play and former Harlem Globetrotter, consensus All-American, inducted into the LSU Hall of Fame, Garfield High School State Champion, Joyce Walker providing color-commentary. Seattle Academy's Rick Dupree will provide play-by-play during the boys' varsity game.
Basketball Mania will be the kick-off event of Rainier Avenue Radio's Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) sanctioned Rainier Avenue Radio 2019-2020 Washington State High School basketball coverage. This opportunity to broadcast was sparked by Taylor-Corrine Benton '20 and Issac Rose '20 as well as former Seattle Academy students who have served as interns at Rainier Avenue Radio and will be joining the broadcasting team as technical engineers. These two Seattle Academy seniors have formed a dynamic duo serving as the technical engineering crew for Rainier Avenue Radio‘s broadcast of high school football games all season long this past fall.
