6th Grade Builds Community Through Service

Last week, Seattle Academy 6th grade students kicked off the school year with a field trip that was packed with students engaging with each other and the 6th grade staff! Upon arriving at Carkeek Park, students worked in small groups playing games that allowed them to get to know their fellow classmates better.

After connecting on the field, the group headed to the beach and the woods where they worked together to clean these places free of all trash. Faculty trip leaders expressed how great it was to see the students' excitement in making the world a better place one piece of trash at a time.

During student free time, they had a choice of doing crafts, playing capture the flag, going on a beach walk, or playing field sports. Spending an entire day with each other and working in different groups throughout the day really allowed for organic relationships to form and fun times all around!
