In late March, Seattle Academy's Class of 2022 students and their families held the first annual Community Service Weekend. Fifty-three 9th graders, twenty-three parents, and three 11th graders contributed a total of 236 volunteer hours.

Together through their efforts they:

  • Repackaged 3,750 pounds of sliced, frozen carrots -- which equals 15,000 servings -- for distribution to local food banks by Food Lifeline.
  • Cleared English Ivy and mulched a hillside at Sacajawea Playground in a forest restoration project with EarthCorps.
  • Collected 73 bikes for Bike Works to use in its social enterprise bike shop and for distribution to youth and adults who cannot afford a bike of their own.
