Seattle Academy Students Study Esperanto
Five Esperantists from Seattle Academy interview Katlin Kovats, a linguist and specialist in teaching methodology who is the director of the Esperanto learning site Edukado.net. Esperanto - known as the international language is the most widely spoken constructed international auxiliary language. It was created in 1887 by Dr. Ludwig Lazarus Zamenhof.
After ten weeks of study, under the guidance of Gary Anderson, students held an hour-long conversation, entirely in Esperanto, learning about the life, culture, and history of citizens of Venezuela, Russia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Brazil directly from Esperantists in those countries while sharing their lives and perspectives as college-bound students in the United States.
