Seattle Academy senior Maya Sulkin (far right) has begun a year-long internship with Israel education nonprofit StandWithUs. The group, who hopes to educate people and combat anti-Semitism, has eighteen locations throughout the world, including the one in Seattle. Maya is working with two other Mercer Island students who are helping organize events that educate the public. StandWithUs opened internships to high school students in 2012 to help prepare them for the challenges they may face regarding Israel in college and their communities. Maya says of her internship, “It’s been great to have intelligent conversations about this and have the ability to share opinions in a school setting.” READ MORE in the Mercer Island Reporter.
