SAAS in the City 2024: A Record-Breaking Night with $1.4M Raised for Financial Aid

With 900 guests, including current, new, and incoming parents, alumni, grandparents, trustees, honorary trustees, SAAS faculty and staff, friends of SAAS, and over 140 student performers, SAAS in the City 2024 was such a wonderful night (in an exciting new venue, Summit Building at the Seattle Convention Center!) to come together and a testament to the power of our community.

We had record-breaking attendance and collectively raised a record-breaking $1.4 million (and counting!) for SAAS’ Financial Aid program!

The night was absolutely buzzing with amazing student performances and alumni speakers. It all started off with a bang thanks to the SAAS drumline, followed by awesome performances from Advanced Music Production, Jazz Band, SAAS Dance Program, Jazz Choir, Middle School Musical Cast, the Cardinal Choir, and more!

Thank you to all of our alumni who attended this event, our alumni speakers who shared their journeys with the audience during the program, and those who sang in the Cardinal Choir. Your participation made the event truly special. We look forward to seeing more of you next year!

More than a celebration, SAAS in the City is a measure of the collective impact our community can have on SAAS students. We are so grateful for this outpouring of support for our kids on Financial Aid and to the many event volunteers who donated so much of their time.

Your support ensures every student, regardless of economic background, can access a SAAS education where they can take risks, explore, and experience a Culture of Performance to contribute boldly to a changing world.

“I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to belong to a community that cares so much about financial aid,” said Shavette McGhee, the Assistant Head of School for Student Experience. “That money we raised is going to directly change lives. I can’t stress that enough–you are changing the trajectory of someone’s life and enriching the diversity of our school. Thank you for believing in them, and thank you for believing in our school community!”

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in this event. We especially want to thank our incredible event co-chairs, Charlotte Simmonds (Natalie, Grade 9) and Becky Voboril (Ethan, Grade 6), and all our parent volunteers.

We are also grateful to raffle donors BNBuilders, Annie Rihnsmith and Greg Johnson (Sylvie, Grade 6), Brent and Leslie Curran (Lily, Grade 9, and V, Grade 12), Spinasse, MariPili Tapas Bar, and Sun Mountain Lodge.

Thank you to our generous SAAS in the City sponsors who helped underwrite this event: Mindful Therapy Group, Aircare International, BNBuilders, JAM Branding, Seneca Group, Spectrum Dermatology of Seattle, AirReps, Krekow Jennings, A&A Limousine & Bus Service, Bench Dog Architects, Sun Valley Bronze, Kamila Kennedy Homes, Renew Physical Therapy, and SAGE Dining Services.

P.S. Were you unable to attend, but still want to support Financial Aid? You can support our students here!
