Study Skills Classes
Study Skills is a small group, fee-based, elective class. To enroll as a new student in this class, families/students indicate interest during the registration process and then meet with the Study Skills Department Chair to determine if placement is desired. Once a supplemental contract for Study Skills has been signed, a student is scheduled into a Study Skills class. Study skills are taught in the context of the content curriculum from students’ core academic courses and students receive support for executive functioning, as well as additional content support. As with all electives, students receive an elective credit and a grade for this class. Middle School students typically take Study Skills in place of World Language, but can also take it in place of their Art or PE elective. Upper School students take Study Skills as an elective course and take a World Languages class.
