Events

Once an application is submitted, families can register for a Student Visit Day through Ravenna. Visit days begin in October and continue through the beginning of February. We recommend scheduling a day quickly as spots fill up.

Visit Day Goals

• For applicants to meet and experience a class taught by a SAAS teacher
• For applicants to meet and hear from SAAS students about clubs, activities, sports, trips, and the culture of the school
• For SAAS community members to get to know applicants better

During your student’s Visit Day, parents/guardians have the option to engage directly with some members of the school’s leadership team. While these discussions are not a required step in the admission process, it is an excellent opportunity for parents/guardians to learn more about our values, our educational philosophy, and any other items on your mind. These sessions will be in an interactive Q&A format from 8:30 - 9:30am. Parents/guardians are welcome to join or depart the session as needed.

Once a family completes and submits an application, they can register for a virtual parent/guardian interview through Ravenna. Interviews begin in October and continue through January.

These meetings will be virtual Zoom calls. Families will receive the Zoom meeting link after registering in Ravenna. The interview will last 30 minutes. This is a required component of the application; our goal is to get to know applicants better and for families to gain information that helps them know Seattle Academy better.

This is intended for parents/guardians only; your child should not attend the meeting.
Interpreter services are available upon request. Please schedule your interview at least two weeks in advance to ensure ample time to schedule an interpreter.

For families with more than one student applying, please only schedule one Parent/Guardian Interview. We can address both students in the same meeting.

Join us for an in-depth overview of our unique academic program, where we will explore the breadth and depth of our approach to teaching and curriculum and how it fosters critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning. We will share insights into our academic program and approach to differentiation and Learning Support resources, including our Study Skills Department and Accommodations Office. 

Perfect for families seeking an understanding of the range of course offerings, our embrace of neurodiversity and executive functioning skills, and how we support student success.

At SAAS, we have affinity groups for students and families that meet throughout the year. We invite you to join us for this event as an extension of our family affinity groups. This Q & A Panel is specifically for families and students who identify as People of Color, to have an opportunity to connect with current SAAS families and students who share this identity.

We’d love to meet you and show you around SAAS! Campus tours are available in a few different ways, depending on the time of the year.

• Fall Open Houses - Each fall SAAS hosts a Saturday Open House event in October and November that will include campus tours. Registration for Open Houses can be found on Ravenna after the new admissions season opens at the beginning of September. Families will then see these event options after you find “Seattle Academy” in the Ravenna School Directory and click “See Upcoming Events”. You do not need to start an application to register for Open House events.
• Visit Days - Families engaged in the application process will have a visit day experience which includes a campus tour option for students and parents/guardians. Registration for Visit Days can be found on Ravenna after a family submits the first part of their application.
• Spring Preview Tours - From April until the end of May, we host a few small group tours for families researching schools for the coming admissions season. To learn more and to register for one of these tours, please call our admissions team or email admissions@seattleacademy.org for availability.
