Hello Class of 2025 Students!

The Senior Planning Committee needs you all to fill out the Senior Survey before Friday, April 18. Your answers will be used to create the Senior Book that will be handed out at graduation, as well as the 2025 Yearbook. We are requiring everyone to fill this out. The survey also includes an opportunity to nominate peers (or yourself) to speak or perform at graduation this year!

This survey will take at least 15-20 minutes to complete. Please give yourself time to share thorough and thoughtful answers. If you cannot finish it in one sitting, your progress will be saved until you hit submit. If you need to change any answers after submitting, the questionnaire will allow you to do so.

Senior Project Dates: April 28 - May 23
Senior Project Night: Wednesday, May 28
Program Options: 

• Senior Project – Four-week professional internship
  • Students can earn an Innovations credit for completing the 4-week internship
• Our goal is to have every senior participate in the Senior Project. However, students who decide to opt out of the Senior Project can continue their full class load through the final day of instruction (May 23).
  • Please note: this option is for those students who are committed to their academic classes. Students may not pick and choose which classes they remain in but will be fully enrolled in all of their classes and all attendance and grade requirements must be met.

Some examples of Senior Project sites from last year include: Boeing, NW African American Museum, Seattle University, Windermere, Seattle Humane Society, Amazon, Sub Pop, Cleveland High School, Krusteaz, UW Sports Medicine, LMN Architects, Starbucks, Seattle Storm, Epiphany School, Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic, NW Film Festival, MoPop, Mead St. Records, and UW Autism Center.

Your student will receive more information during our Senior Days Kick-Off on Thursday, December 12, and Friday, December 13. Based on the success of last year, we are bringing this program back for a second year! Day one will give your student all the tools they need to identify and find a senior project site that will be of interest to them. Day two is all about fun for the seniors. The dance is open to all 11th and 12th Grade SAAS students. This is an exciting time of year for students, who may have been looking forward to this event for some time. Some students hope to invite or be invited to the dance, and may experience nervousness or disappointment if their hopes do not come to fruition. Please know that all 11th and 12th grade students are welcome to attend the dance, and that you do not need to bring a date to attend. Many students come in groups or friends or choose to come by themselves and hang out with their friends at the event. SAAS students may also bring a guest. Guest forms need to be completed and submitted no later than Tuesday, April 29 by 3:30 PM.

Later this spring, tickets will be sold at the Vanderbilt Front Desk during Community Time and Lunch. To purchase a ticket, you must bring cash (exact change only!), check (made to Seattle Academy) or card and your student badge. Students may not buy tickets on behalf of other SAAS students.

Tickets are $90 each. Should a student need any financial assistance buying a ticket, please fill out the Community Chest form and Alisha Agard, our Dean of Student Life, will contact you about picking up the ticket. Ticket sales will close on Friday, May 2 at 3:00 PM.

Families and community members are invited to join us for this culminating event honoring the Class of 2025. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the program begins promptly at 6:00 PM. Parking is available in the Spring Street garage.

Join us for a special celebration exclusively for Seniors and SAAS faculty/staff as we mark the end of Senior Projects, the final day of English class, and share important graduation announcements. Seniors will also receive their Grad Bags and enjoy light appetizers as we send them off in festive SAAS style!

We are excited to announce that the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2025 will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at McCaw Hall. More information will be announced in the coming months. If you have specific questions about the event, please email Communications or Stacie Cone.

Timing: Doors open 5:30 PM; program begins 6:30 PM and typically lasts around 3 hours.

Ticket Info: Each senior will receive 10 tickets (4 in orchestra, 6 in gallery sections). Seats are on first come, first serve basis. Extra tickets available by request (more info coming soon).

Other Important Details:

• SAAS will provide caps and gowns to wear for the ceremony, at no cost to families.
• Seniors are expected to attend graduation rehearsal on both Monday, June 2 (timing TBA) and the morning of Tuesday, June 3.

We are thrilled to announce that SAAS Senior Grad Night will take place immediately following graduation on June 3, 2025!

Grad Night is an all-night party following Graduation that is available to all seniors. The party provides the recent graduates with an opportunity for a safe, car free, drug and alcohol-free celebration with a night of non-stop entertainment. SAAS Senior Grad Night gives seniors one last chance to be together as a class and make memories that will last for years to come!

We have been working with Grad Nights, a professional event planning firm, to create a fantastic night for the graduating seniors. The party begins right after graduation at McCaw Hall. Students will be shuttled by awaiting buses to two surprise destinations with fun entertainment, food and music. They will return to SAAS early the next morning around 4:00 AM on June 4 for parent pick up.

Tickets will go on Sale on April 30. Grad Night tickets are $330. Community Chest funds will be available as needed.

Grad Night Reminders:

• Students should not plan on driving themselves to graduation as they won’t be able to leave their cars overnight while at the Grad Party.
• Students will have a few minutes after the ceremony for pictures and hugs with friends and family before they need to get changed and start moving to event check in.
• Bring a change of clothes for the party-comfortable casual clothing (jeans, sweats, shorts, etc) and socks.
• Seniors will be fed well during the night, starting with their arrival at the first venue.
• Student will not be permitted to leave the event at any time during the duration of the evening.

The Grad Nights party is chaperoned by SAAS parents with students in 9th, 10th, 11th, or other grades, and typically not the parents of graduating seniors. If you know of parents interested in volunteering, please ask them to contact Alice Ikeda. SAAS Parent volunteers help perpetuate this excellent SAAS tradition. The Grad Nights party is not chaperoned by SAAS employees.

8:30 AM to 1:30 PM | Rehearsal for Performers & Speakers Only

Students who will be speaking or performing at graduation should plan to attend rehearsal Monday, June 2nd, from 8:30 AM-1:30 PM at McCaw Hall. Students must drive themselves or take public transportation to McCaw.

Tuesday, June 3 

8:50 AM to 12:30 PM | Required Rehearsal for All Graduating Seniors

All seniors are required to attend a graduation ceremony rehearsal at McCaw Hall on Tuesday, June 3, from 8:50 AM-12:30 PM. This will provide students an opportunity to practice the processional, crossing the stage, and more. Students must drive themselves or take public transportation to McCaw.

12:30-2:00 PM & 3:00-4:00 PM | Rehearsal for Performers & Speakers Only

Performers and speakers should hold Tuesday, June 3, from 12:30-2:00 PM and 3:00-4:00 PM in case any additional rehearsal is necessary. This will be determined by the end of rehearsal on Monday, June 2.  

4:40 PM | Ceremony Arrival for All Graduating Seniors

Seniors should return to McCaw Hall by 4:40 PM for the all-class photo. Doors will open for the event at 5:30.

Senior Portraits

Senior portraits are used to create our Senior Book, which will be distributed to all attendees of the Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony on June 3, 2025, at McCaw Hall. The senior portrait will also be displayed as your student crosses the stage to receive their diploma during our graduation program. Families may use the official school/yearbook photo taken by SAAS or submit their own. Please use the link in the button below to upload high-resolution (300 dpi) images. Both vertical and horizontal orientations are acceptable.

Important: Ensure the file name is labeled with the senior's first and last name.

For the Class of 2025, we will be creating and printing the “Senior Book” (formerly known as the "Commencement Book") for distribution at the Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony at McCaw Hall. Separate from the all-school yearbook, this enhanced Senior Book will be a special printed piece of memorabilia honoring the Class of 2025.

Senior Slideshow

Parents and guardians, please use the form linked below to submit a short congratulatory message to members of the Class of 2025! These messages will be displayed on a looping slideshow in McCaw Hall prior to the graduation ceremony, along with photos of each student. We will also share the messages in a keepsake video after graduation!

We have shared a digital graduation announcement (PDF) in the most recent Senior Outreach email. A downloadable version of it is linked below. Families can forward the invite to family members and other guests, or print it out if they'd like hard copies to distribute or save! The announcement contains information about the event and a link to our hosted graduation livestream online at seattleacademy.org/graduation.

If you would like to receive a professionally printed copy of the graduation announcement, please reach out to communications@seattleacademy.org with your requested quantity by 5 pm on Wednesday, May 21. We will be printing these by request only this year. Thank you!

Yes! You can view our Graduation Ceremony in real time from anywhere with an internet connection. This is a great way to share the experience with family members who may not be able to attend in person. Closer to the event, we’ll share the livestream link via email. It will also be posted on the seattleacademy.org/graduation landing page. 

Each senior will receive 10 tickets (4 in orchestra, 6 in gallery sections). Seats are on a first come, first served basis. You can request extra tickets using the Graduation Ticket Request Form. 

We want to ensure that everyone has a great experience at the graduation ceremony so please complete the ADA Accommodation Request Form to give the Graduation Committee a heads up that you or a family member needs extra assistance.

There are lots of garage options for parking near McCaw Hall. Please use this helpful webpage to assist with that process. 

Right now, the ceremony will be approximately three hours; however we are still finalizing performance times and speakers. With a 6:30 PM start time, the ceremony will likely end between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM. Please see Grad Night information above for the seniors after the ceremony.

SAAS will be providing each senior with a traditional graduation cap and gown to wear to graduation and throughout the ceremony. We will be distributing the caps and gowns to seniors on Friday, May 23. This will allow time for seniors to have the option of decorating their caps (please note no glitter is allowed) and to take graduation photos in advance of the ceremony. Seniors have already indicated their height for gown sizing. There is no cost to families for the caps and gowns.

They are welcome to wear anything they feel comfortable and confident in! We’d like to take a moment to remind students who choose to wear high-heeled shoes that they will need to go up and down stairs to get on and off the stage as they receive their diploma. We advise students to bring their shoes to rehearsal so they can practice their best high-heeled stride before the big event.
