Description: Class Representatives help build our SAAS community by serving as liaisons between the grade-level parents, the Family Association, and the school. They model the school's Mission, Values, and Guiding Principles.  As Family Association ambassadors, they help to build a strong sense of community by welcoming new families and promoting parent/guardian engagement in grade-level, division and school-wide events and activities. They act as a general knowledge resource for grade-level questions and recruit volunteers to lead various grade-level community building activities (coffees, parent socials, potlucks, etc.).  Duties vary in scope and time commitment and can easily accommodate parents/guardians who work full time, part time, or from the home.  Let us know if you are interested!

Description: Open Houses are currently scheduled for October 26, 2024, November 16, 2024 and December 14, 2024.  Multiple shifts are available to help greet prospective families and share your SAAS pride.

Description: We hold visit days for prospective families from October through February. Parent volunteers play an important role as greeters and tour guides. 

Description: In March and April 2025, parent volunteers help support welcome events for families considering their invitation to join the SAAS community and those that ultimately make the decision to join us for the 2025-26 school year.

Volunteers recognize and thank our faculty and staff in creative ways during the year. (All parents/guardians/families are also encouraged to also provide support through Friday treats.)

Description: The Family Affinity Night is an evening dedicated to celebrating our diverse SAAS community. The event, planned by student affinity group leaders in collaboration with the Director of Equity and Inclusion, is open to all SAAS families, students, faculty and staff. Volunteers are needed to assist with decorating, facilitating food and beverages, welcoming/checking-in families, and event clean up at the end of the evening. 

Description: Potlucks are a great way to get to know other families. Volunteers are needed to help plan and host grade-level potlucks.

Description: Committee members and grade-level representatives plan and organize parent education events (speakers, panels, grade-level coffees, book group, etc) collaborating on content with SAAS administration, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and Counseling staff, and with SAAS Communications to market these events. 

Description: Volunteers help promote school spirit through logo wear sales. Volunteers typically assist with logo wear at four school-wide events per year, including our trimester SAAS Pride full community events Fallapoooza, Winter Hoopla, Springapalooza and Middle and Upper School New Family Orientations.
