We’re bringing back Ski Bus to Stevens Pass this winter for Middle and Upper School Students—with a new format to include more students. Please read carefully!

What’s New:

Two 3-week sessions, split up by grade level to maximize capacity.
Opportunity to do both sessions, for 6 weeks total, for beginner skiers and snowboarders who enroll in lessons (additional cost through Stevens Pass).
Register through the interest form, open for 4 days (November 17-20), replaces first-come first-served.
If there’s extra space, possibility for students not participating in lessons to enroll in both sessions.
If we’re over capacity, using a lottery system to select students.

Session A–8th through 12th grade

Skiers and riders who sign up for a 6-week lesson program (must enroll in Session A and Session B)
8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades

Session B preference will be given to:

Skiers and riders who sign up for a 6-week lesson program (must dual enroll in Session A and Session B)
6th and 7th grades
8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders enrolled in Session A and interested in both sessions (space permitting)

Cost:

Ski Bus registration will cost $170 per session. Enrolling in both sessions will cost $340. This price does not include lift tickets, rentals, or lessons.

Registration:

Registration will no longer be on a first-come, first-served basis. A registration interest form will be open on the Seattle Academy Ski Bus Website from Monday, November 17 at 9:00 AM until Thursday, November 20 at 3:00 PM. The time you fill out the form will not affect your child’s likelihood of getting a spot. Spots will be determined by:

Beginner skiers/snowboarders who elect to enroll in lessons with Stevens Pass (they are offering a 6-week package) will be placed into both Session A and Session B.
Spots for students not taking lessons will be organized by grade level, with Session A for 8th-12th grades and Session B for 6th-7th grades.
You may indicate if you are interested in both sessions on the interest form. If it is possible, we will allow as many non-lessons students to enroll in both sessions as we can.
If interest exceeds capacity for one or both of the sessions, we will move to a lottery system. Siblings will be entered into the lottery together.

Stevens Pass Lessons and Tickets:

Lift Tickets

Stevens Pass will make discounted lift tickets available for all participants. Options:

6-Week Ticket Bundle for $129. The 6-week ticket bundle should only be used on Ski Bus days, so if you are only in one session, you might not use all the days. Unfortunately Stevens is not able to offer a bundle of 3 tickets, but we are encouraging all families to consider the 6-ticket option since the pricing is lower than buying 3 separate day tickets for your child.
Stevens Pass season pass for $322.

Students enrolling in lessons may purchase the ticket options online with their lessons. Students not enrolling in lessons may purchase lift tickets by emailing spguestservice@vailresorts.com.

Lessons

Students can participate in a 6-week group lesson program for $340, for ski or snowboard. Stevens Pass will group students by ability, in a group of SAAS students. Use the links below to sign up, and email your confirmation to skibus@seattleacademy.org. Please select Saturday for your lessons, as there is no Sunday option. Please note that Stevens Pass is aware our lessons will actually take place on Sundays.

Is Financial Aid Assistance Available?

Gear

Helmets are required for all ski bus participants. Students should bring all gear on the bus. If you are renting, please do a season rental before the first day of ski bus, as parents need to be present for students to rent gear and teachers cannot rent gear at Stevens Pass on the parent’s behalf. Students are expected to follow the SAAS Core Values on the bus, in the lodges, and on the mountain. It is expected that the buses will be thoroughly cleaned up at the end of the day and that no damage to the bus will occur. No one will be allowed to leave the buses until clean-up has been completed. Disregard for these rules may result in suspension or termination from the program, without refund.

On Mountain Supervision

Students will be able to free ski with buddies within open terrain according to the mountain’s policies. All students are expected to use the buddy system and remain together throughout the day. A SAAS chaperone will be stationed in the lodge all day and available in person and by phone. If students are worried about a potentially serious injury, ski patrol should always be contacted before the SAAS chaperone. Should any student be injured, parents will be contacted by the chaperone on duty.
