South Park Summer 2026

Seattle Academy is proud to offer a complimentary summer camp in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood, designed for youth with limited access to supervised seasonal programs. Recognizing the immeasurable benefits of summer camps, from building social skills to fostering independence and confidence, our program ensures every child has a safe, engaging environment to play, learn, and explore new interests!

Summer camps will be held at the South Park Community Center. Our dedicated team will provide a supportive atmosphere where campers can spend time outdoors, step away from screens, make new friends, and explore new hobbies through active, hands-on activities. We are committed to making these high-quality opportunities accessible and impactful for everyone, prioritizing the needs of families from low-income and marginalized communities. The program runs rain or shine, and youth can drop in any day and at any time during the program's scheduled hours.

SAAS Volunteers

At Seattle Academy, we recognize the transformative power of bringing diverse cohorts of student leaders from our service-volunteer program to work directly with youth in the South Park community. Each student brings a shared commitment to contributing meaningfully and fostering sustainable, reciprocal relationships that bridge our city's diverse neighborhoods.

Through our weekly summer programming centered on community-led needs, our student volunteers move beyond traditional service to engage in active partnership, deepening understanding of social responsibility while supporting the incredible potential of South Park's youth. Through this collaborative exchange, our students experience firsthand the importance of civic engagement. We strive to build a more equitable future where leadership is defined by empathy, integrity, and a lifelong dedication to the common good.

South Park Summer Camps Volunteering FAQ

"Camp makes me feel supported during the summer as a parent. They have a routine they can follow and are safe at all times. It gives my kids an outlet for physical and mental health. My kids love camp and have had a positive experience.' - Analisa Zahne.(Parent)

"Summer camp was a place where I felt more independent and had something to do, unlike school. There were no grades. We got to try many new things, and I started playing lacrosse and cricket at camp. I get to know more people from my community and make new friends. It was a space where I felt belong and learning to be part of a community but also learning to be myself." - Litzy (Age: 10)

"It is deeply rewarding to leverage our resources to expand access, addressing unique needs and challenges, and help young people--including our vibrant South Park community--develop their purpose and passions while building healthy, lasting community relationships."- Craig Tomlinson
