Tour the Home of the Upper School
Special offering at SAAS Summit! Join us at 3:45 PM on October 20 for a hard hat tour of our new building, opening Fall 2025.
Since our inception, Seattle Academy has been guided by an unyielding commitment to a relevant, individualized, community-oriented vision of education in an urban setting in Seattle. That commitment is rooted in an entrepreneurial mindset, an orientation to meaningful action, and a fierce belief in the potential of all students. These strengths have propelled SAAS through four decades while school leadership has worked towards a vision for a connected campus.
Thanks to the foresight and investment of past school leaders and a decades-long strategic master facilities plan,
Seattle Academy now owns the entire block on 12th Avenue between Spring and Union, and we are making steady progress toward completing our vision for a unified campus and a community-focused home for our signature Upper School program. The new Home of the Upper School is designed by LMN Architects and is slated to open in Fall 2025.
This project will transform Seattle Academy and give our community and programs the space and
resources they need for the future. The Upper School Building will feature five floors and 100,000 square feet of
interior space with an additional 11,000 square feet of outdoor courtyard space. The building will add thirty-eight
flexible learning spaces, including six purpose-built labs, and a two-story Upper School Community Commons.
Come see it for yourself at Summit, during our first public hard hat tours! Note: this is a walk-through of an active construction site. Visitors must wear closed-toe shoes and PPE (provided), and sign a waiver prior to the tour.
“Our new building will allow our community to translate space into opportunity. It will be a place for students to grow their intellectual curiosity, accomplish their goals, and develop new passions. It will be a place of belonging and personal stretch as much as a center for engagement, joy, and learning. These spaces will have a profound impact on both our middle and high school programs, giving a permanent home to the creativity and innovation that have always characterized a SAAS education.”Giselle Furlonge, Associate Head of School, SAAS
